I am currently in the planning stage of putting toogether a new gauge layout for my '90 Hb 2.4L ka24e, but I have a problem . I want to put in an aftermarket fuel gauge, but the sending units are all different. I see the sending units that say 90 ohms full-33 empty, or 70 full-0 empty, blah blah blah. What do we need? I have seen gauges that are programmable, but I don't want to spend that much on one gauge.

If anyone here can help with this, I really appreciate it.

I would think easiest way to know it to find the fuel wires fill tank and measure with multi meter, then re measure when tank is just about empty. or contact nissan dealer see if a mechanic can look up those specs in nissan service manual.

I think my answer might have been laying here in front of me the whole time. When I bag my truck, I'll need a fuel cell, like this

The fuel cell shown is 12 gallons, and its only 110.00 from Summit Racing. Of course, the tie down straps are extra.

When I change to that, I'll have to install a fuel level sending unit anyways, so i will use one from VDO Gauges, like the vdo 226008. It is set up to run on 0-90 ohms, and then I can use any fuel gauge that operates on GM vehicles.
