I've NEVER heard of sleeves being a weak point in the SRs. I HAVE heard of people running over 500whp on a stock bottom end, so I'm sure you'll be fine... There's a horsepower thread in the stickies.

I have not heard any bad things but if you are going for that kind of power you might as well do some sleeves anyways. Apexi, HKS, Tomei, go with some good ones and do it once the right way.

I know Hybridynamics made 550+ on a stock bottom end and ran in the 10's I think.

The question you need to ask yourself is if you want to risk that much time and money on sleeves? Considering they arent overly expensive, i say just spend the extra money and be safe.

Think of all the parts that will need to be replaced if a sleeve fails... You have the block, crank, rods and pistons to start with possible damage to the head an turbo. if you're serious about making that much power, just do it right.

Enjuku also made 540whp on a stock bottom end SR yrs ago. I thought most people replaced their stock sleeves bc they can't be bored out much and they do weaken when you overbore them.
