I have an S14 that I'm putting the motor into.I haven't even done the swap yet.I'm planning on buying everything I need first.I'll be doing an FMIC as well, it'll eventually be getting a GT35R, but not for a few months. I'll drive it on the stock T3 for a while.l0nestar wrote:What mods (if any) have you done to your engine?
I got an S-14 radiator (for Free!) and used that + 16" SPAL pusher (~$150). If you do this, you need to upgrade your alternator (Quest 110a) because the fan draws around 25a. Work on some ducting and voila!
Oh yeah, stock RB25 with FMIC and 3" exhaust.
wired it in as a pusher?pirate87 wrote:I bought some 16 inch e-fan off of ebay, mounted to my S14 radiator and have never had a cooling issue. I've run this setup all summer and in stopped traffic. The fan, if I remember right cost me about $45 new.
Make sense. How's that black car sir?s14_sport wrote:well its better to have your e-fans as pullers....thats why they say efans have to be really slim because since the RB engine is one big mofo there is hardly any space between the radiator and the front of the engine to fit fans. Using your fan(s) as pushers is not as efficient but having it mounted on the front of the radiator leaves you some room to have a really big fan. So it all depends on your setup.
Good to hear. As you can see... I'll be going the way of the RB as wells14_sport wrote:hey man...the black silvia is doin pretty good. got the RB in and runnin pretty good. just got some more bugs to get out and gauges to mount and I'll be good to roll again. Been a long process, but, all worth it!
Well I want something that'll work in the long haul but not cost a billion dollars. Not something to "hold me over"David_NISMO wrote:S13 with RB26dett, with stock twinsI'm using a stock S13 radiator with two Hyundai puller fans. I have a hole cut in my front bumper.

I have no cooling issues for daily driving. If I start pushing the car for very long 30seconds or more I do start to heat up.
I am purchasing new coolant parts as we speak, but this set-up will get you by for quite a while.
Existing radiator $0Radiator hoses $152-12" Hyundai fans $20Water Temp Gauge $40
Being able to drive the car as-is, priceless.
