It's not really a matter of boost... it's a matter of power. I've looked all over the skyline forums and those guys tend to believe that over 350whp will not last long. You can make 350whp at lower boost on a big turbo, or higher boost on a smaller turbo.

I'm swapping an RB25det into my S14 with just a headgasket and ARP headstuds as my only internal mods, intending to get 400whp with a GT30r, tuned with a full standalone. We'll see how long it lasts.

I don't know, it differs alot and there is alot of internet heresay. Here's a thread where one guy in New Zealand says that a well-tuned stock block RB25 can take up to 600whp.

I'm just going to go ahead and do it, then see for myself. 400whp daily driven, then maybe a 500whp racegas tune for the track. My turbo will be the limiting factor beyond that.

Oh... it would help if I actually posted the link: http://www.skylinesdownunder.c...power

BTW, this link is informational only... Nicoclub rocks all other forums.

Its all in the tuning.

There's 2 rb25det's that I know of on stock bottom ends pushing 400rwhp and have been for the last 2 years that I know of.There was another running around with a HKS3037S pushing 430rwhp on 23psi, that was still fine when it was stripped back to stock for sale.

When running higher boost and nudging 400rwhp its important the comp ratio is dropped via a headgasket, I'm not sure if its a coincidence or not but all of the rb25's pushing 400rwhp have aftermarket baby cams.

Recently there's been a stock internal rb30et (SOHC) tuned (GT35R .82) thats clocked close to 300,000km's and pulled 500rwhp. Lets see how long that lasts.

So.. Tuning tuning tuning. :D
