Thanks for the notes guys....I think I'm going to do the apple TV for the media device, I'm going to swap out the internal drive for a Solid State Drive if possible. and store the movies on there so I don't get HD issues with all that movement.
Since I use MACs for for pretty much everything this makes the most sense to me I think. I can also for sure have it Sync up with the home PC using the 802.11n standard.
It appears there is a small storage area hidden under the rear trunk area that I can put the devices in... since I'm a little worried about water damage and stuff; I think I can use some stuff from these guys:

to protect the apple TV from water damage and stuff...
I think I have a pretty decent design in mind... so when I get going on this, I will put some pictures up and stuff... I don't think I will get to completion until June on this... but thats okay.. I'm going to try and do most of it myself if I can, maybe take a week off work and string this together for some weekend horror, oops, I mean fun :-)
If any one has some good suggestions on displays to use, Id like to heat about them... I think I also need to figure out a little better what kind of batter/inverter setup to use so I can power the apple tv while the car is off with no risk to starting the car, but giving the system enough time to copy off what could be very large amounts of data when it syncs' with itunes...
if you have some thoughts around that, please let me know... I was going to go to battery world and see if they can build me a custom cell I can cram into that space under the rear cargo area...
