I have a set of subframe collars and they don't have a gap in the top spacer to get them on without dropping the subframe. I'll be taking a hack saw to them with a bar of soap rubbed on the blade before hand. How big is the gap needed?? I still need the specs of the s/t endlinks folks!!

however big the subframe bolt is, I'm thinking around a half inch.

Soap on the hacksaw collects the metal filings.

Sideshow, if you're on your game, you can lower the subframe completely with the links still attached via floor jack. Just have a friend with you to help with aligning it back into place. One guy postions while the other guy pumps (the jack that is!)

Good luck.

The soap lubes the blade so i won't get as hot and cuts better then with oil based lubes. If you sprayed linseed oil on your blade, it'd take you longer and more effort. Without the bar of soap, you'd break twice the blades. You learn something new everyday!
