Worldwide transmission and drive train components are specifed to handle torque. Hp is never used by real engineers since it is an imaginary manipulation of the torque number which requires a specification of RPM.

The term HP is meaningless without HP @ RPM...............so you can work back to torque.

Excellent speech!! And your dead on with your statement and I agree 100%!! Torque gets you up to speed and HP keeps you there. Hp is for bragging rights, torque brakes **** I know this.

So what am I lookin at?? Im looking for 400/450 F.P.T.

You'll be fine, lots of guys are using that trans in boosted G's and Z's.

According to Aisin's own specs, it's only rated to about 20% more max torque than the 5-speed. I'll try to find the links somewhere... really not all that much though.

Ok here's a new question.(Same topic) what is the exact difference between the FWD and RWD flywheel's? And can I use a RWD clutch kit and flywheel on a FWD trans with a spacer on the trans or crank to give it the spacing it need's??

FWD and RWD what? VQ35DE's?

If so, I'm not sure-- the required flywheel thickness and dimensions are probably slightly different due to input shaft length differences. You can use a 350Z clutch on a FWD 5.5 gen or later Maxima if memory serves correctly, if you have a flywheel with the appropriate dimensions.

If the FSM has the dimensions for the flywheels in them, you could compare and check...

Also, the crank position marks may be different between the two flywheels. If those are different, then you're pretty screwed. I've heard of some unbolting the crank position mark rings and swapping them over, but IIRC those are heat-fitted on and are difficult to get off. I could be wrong, of course...
