The KA24DE is a double overhead cam design with 4 valves per cylinder. 2 intake, 2 exhuaust. The cam shaft actuates the valves directly. A KA24E is a single overhead cam with 3 valves per cylinder. 2 intake 1 exhust. It uses rocker arms to actuate the valves.
The KA24DE is more powerful than the KA24E and has a higher compression ratio.
The powersteering pump for the KA24E bolts to the head and is on the passenger side, whereas it bolts to the block, and is on the driver side on the KA24DE. The blocks are essentially the same, and the transmissions can be interchanged between the two.
There are other differences, but you can find those ones out by searching! Check my sig incase you had problems finding the button!
