They're both terms for the same item.

Thanks for the help , I have one more question , I ordered a pair of shocks for the rear but the ones I ordered have a male type of end on them and the oem stocks have a female type end on them how is this going to work? Even thought jcwhiteny said they were gonna work I just don't see it

A shock is when she tells you she's pregnant. Paying child support is you absorbing it.

Taking a look in the service manual, the lower mount is a fork style of mount and the upper uses a standard strut top hat that bolts to the shock's piston. It should slide over a bushing on the rear knuckle. Do you have a picture of what JCWhitney sent you? Looking at JCW's site, all of the shocks they show for a '10 370Z have two bushed ends that you would pass a bolt through. Kind of like a generic off-road shock. Send it back and buy one from a store like Advance Auto where you can inspect the shock when it comes in.

Yea that's what I was thinking but none of the autozones or any auto parts store sells them :/ so I pretty much had no choice and had to order those , but instead of going overtop the lower mount like a fork couldn't I take the JCW one and side it in between where the stock ones go over? And just bolt thru there?
