I am looking through junklots for 89-94 240sx throttle bodies and was wondering the difference between auto and manual throttle bodies.

Are they the same size inlet? Will an automatic throttle body work on a 5 spd car?

TIA

throttle bodies are exactly the same, the TPS attached is different i believe. A/T models have an extra "hard closed throttle position switch" and wide open position switch which is used for the transmission control. M/T dont need these two switches. the manual just uses the WOT button behind the gas pedal to turn off AC etc under full acceleration.

edit: whoops, to answer your question the A/T TPS should work on M/T cars, the ECU will just ignore the extra signals. but it will not work the otherway around, since the ECU/TCU needs those signals for transmission control. :D
