Should have put the cams in after the motor was broken in. Cams need an "easy" break-in, whereas the motor itself can be romped on from the get-go. There is a lot of arguments about the preferred way to go about things, but the people who giver hell to break the motor in swear by it.

When was the last time any of us drove a rental car carefully because it had only 40miles on the clock? Not me ..not ever. I drive it like I stole it. I just don't think it's that important. Maybe not run it at the redline until the first oil change, but anything else is surely old wives tales.

Don't be afraid to drive it hard, but don't try and sustain high speeds for long periods of time. Don't let it idle long either. Boost is irrelevant at this point because the more load you put on it, the better it is for the rings, so enjoy your new engine, but give a couple of oil changes before you get totally sick with the gas pedal.
