Whats the best tint combinations

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Im having a hard time picking combinations of tints. even after looking at pictures on this forum i am still unsure of which is the best combination.i am currently thinking of having 5% on all the windows in the back (doors and hatch). and 40% front doors and none on the windshield (for visibility issues).this is more practical for me but im not sure if having different % tints on the car would look good. maybe i should get 35 or 40% all round (except for windshield).

See Below

Thats by far the best combo ever

Maybe a little lighter on the windshield to make it more easy at night and you could do with out the double 5 but other then that its by far the best

Lybrian1:

If I were u I`ll go for 35% All around.

Here are the advantages.

1. Cops can still see you inside.

2. Even out tint looks OEM. So cops might think it`s factory tint and not aftermarket stuff (uneven tint %)

3. Not very dark at night. Specially backing up.

4. Lastly, this is very important! people will only see a silhouette of you LOL!

I forgot to tell you that once the rear (hatch) got tinted , you`ll see

horizontal reflection linings from the rear defroster strip. You`ll have to get

use to it for a couple of nights.

Plus double check what you can legally get away with in your state. Also before you make the rear windows TOO dark, do you have the around view monitor? I got 15 rear and 35 front, with nothing to the windshield. I have the AVM, and I think without it I would struggle reversing at night. Just something to think about.

in my city im sure its legal to tint the back any % but fronts have a limit of 35%im thinking of 40% all round except for windsheild of course just to be safe. it doesnt get very sunny in toronto no need for really dark tints. besides i often drive around at night

thanks for the advice. i wanna hear more!

This explains it all pretty well.

They say the distortion effect gets better when the tint dries.

Honestly, mine is already 7 months old and haven`t notice that much at all.

35% all around. I had it done this afternoon. I was charged $150 for the job using some film called Global film. I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's what I got and it's what is staying on until I have to replace it under warranty or until I sell the car. I'll put photos up shortly.

No, I did not get the windshield done. I was going to get 50% on the front, but the installer talked me out of it. He told me I would certainly get pulled over in DC. I also noticed I had the camera behind the rear view mirror. So I decided not to do it.

are solargaurds gps friendly? because i think they have metal in them that makes it harder to pick up GPS signals

metal apparently interferes...dont know first hand, but all installers will tell you this. They dont want to be responsible for cell phone, gps or other interferance issue.

moreover, metal and ceramic tints are more on the brown side when it comes to look.

regular tint is more "black". I went regular. The benefits of metalic and ceramic is for heat reflection. In toronto, we dont suffer the same heat issues (not that I wouldnt mind) than further south.

That's med front and dark the rest and I'll never tint my windshield cause I do canyon runs and I don't want to die because I can't see.No problem yet with COPS in Cali so you shouldn't have any problem anywhere else in the world!

I Track my car monthly and actually found out that the tined windshield greatly helps with the glare caused from the road surface... Just my opinion...

But you should take your ex out air your tires up to around 38psi turn the vdc off and romp the thing...

You would truly be amazed by what our little EX is capable of.
