Whats the best stereo mounting kit? My 1993 nissan 240 sx came with some old tape player mounted crappy, but this weekend I purchased a cheap ($100) awia cd player for it. I used the old install kit see problems in photo below.

:rolleyes

Paul, I'll throw this over into Simmsled's section and maybe you'll get a better response.

OK. You go to http://www.installer.com Click on dash kits. Get a Nissan Pocket. The number is 99-7499. Go to the right of that and click the add to cart button. Buy the pocket and install it. You factory radio is a double din. Which means your after market radio will go on the top or bottom and the pocket will go above or below the radio. Any other questions?

Yes, does their install kit for the head unit also remove that nasty gap above the head unit I have?

Thanks for the information!

Yes the pocket is what takes up that nasty gap.

No it wont. The mounting bracket for the radio will not let it move up any higher.

No you don't need the mounting bracket for the radio. You take that off and screw directly into the head unit. Then both the pocket and the radio will fit perfectly. Put the outer ring on the head unit. It will take up all the space.
