whats that knocking sound from my KA?

why is there a knocking sound comming from my KA? the engine runs fine and there is no shavings in my oil... the engine only has maybe 60k miles on it, and i dont know!!!! any help would be greatly appreciated

is it a deep knocking or more of a tick-tick-tick sound

yeah more of a ticking, is that just my cams, or is that just the KA being a truck that is doing it.

could be injectors, or timing chain too

i had the timing chain tightened when the sprockets were changed. what does the injector have to do with it?

all injector 'tick' it is the electric charge that causes the silinoide (sp) to open and inject fuel. That causes a very quiet or slight 'tick' noise.

also--the timing chain is typically rahther noisy regardless of whether its tight or not--i hate it, but it gest less noticeable whenthe car heats up a bit.

yep the KA is a vocal engine. it makes all manners of sounds, and most are A-OK.-Enzo

i took the car out today and listened, ran it pretty hard for a while and popped the hood. the noise was less but it was hot under the hood and no matter how i tried to look at it, its still a truck.
