If it runs good, with minimal problems, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat.Give the man $900 and have it towed to my place.(But thats me. I love these cars )bmwkiller wrote:I found a '91 Q for sale. I'm new to the Q continuum, so I'm looking for opinions on the price before I trek over to the guys house. Specs are: '91, Green/tan, one owner, full service history, new tires and all 4 rotors & pads. It's got 207k, currently running but timing chain guides are making noise. I haven't seen it yet, but the owner says it has always been garaged and pampered. He wants $900. I've got the time, tools, and space to do the guides, so I'm just looking at parts costs. Any thoughts? Thanks
Sorry, but you're wrong.I've sold many an item for shipping alone that I could have made a profit off of and given away at least twice as many locally. And I'm far from being old or a lady.zippitta wrote: Everyone is out to make the most money possible on whatever it is that they are selling. The only exception to the rule is the old lady that has no family to tell her otherwise.
I agree. I am toying with the idea of giving away Layla early next year. She would make a sweetheart deal for somebody wanting to get int a Q, or wanting to move up to a 1994. I just can't justify putting another $3k in her (Tires, knock sensors, under plenum hoses, transmission). She runs fine, and still pulls all the way to 130. She still spins the tires, and shifts right about 6600 RPM at WOT. She is worth about $900 since the body is near perfect and the interior still looks great. The driver seat has some wear on the real bolster, but no tears. At 237K, I am very happy with her. I just hat having Lola sitting at home paitiently waitiing to be put in faithful service...anlasak wrote:

If you're a DIY kinda person, I say go for it.

If you're still feeling this generous when early next year finally rolls around, I'm quite prepared to grovel.Jeff Williams wrote:I agree.
