A couple quick notes.

1 - Enough of the Q45's regulars see the low post count and new sign on and consider you may be trying to circumvent the Classifieds 10 Post rule by "asking what it's worth".

2 - Without some detailed maintenance records, most here won't assign a "value".

3 - Need more info. Aside from more "records", tell us about the car. Are you first owner? Has it had any paint/body work? Just more info.

4 - More interior pics as well. Is the dash pad protecting the dash or hiding cracks?

5 - If you're in HI, then you can either ask a premium, since few G50's are left, or expect to get nothing, since the potential buyers think no one will know how to work on it, or where to get (used) parts. I'd be surprised if even one of us has any idea of what the used luxury car market is doing in HI.

The most important question is how much money do you want to spend? The car won't be very expensive to purchase, old Q's just aren't worth alot, but you will at least double purchase price the first year of ownership, and that's if you're a cheapskate. I paid $1800 for my 92 and have in the last 6 months spent 2500-3500 on repairs/services and I do all of my own work, I don't pay a shop for labor. If I did I'd have past twice that into it. Q ownership is far from that of a Talon, even though Mitsubishi's aren't the cheapest cars to own either. Also, a Q will average 16-20 mpg. It's a 4.5 V8, so it's thirsty.

It's confusing post, but I think he is trying to trade for the Q45.

Value is a personal thing based on the car's conditon and utility to you. No idea on a Talon.

Q45 beats Eagle Talon any day.

But that's just my opinion. A 94 Q with 94k? Good maintenance can stretch that to 250k+ easy.

I need to save and compile all the cost quotes so that people actually understand that the $3,000 for initial repairs is a very LOW BALL NUMBER.Even $6,000 won't bring most of them back just keep them running until you spend more and more and more.

Once you have $10,000 in repairs into an early Q it is ready to begin accepting the average $3,000 per year and be reasonably reliable.

I paid $3500 for my 92 with 83k on it.

I was fortunate enough to have received it in great condition with the exception of the chain guides. Off the top of my head, I think I've spent around $3k in maintenance and repairs. I'll be putting in a little more into in the form of spare parts (i.e., spare transmission) in the coming months, as well as finally being able to commence some aesthetic modifications. (I still am young and superficial you know.)

All in all, I must say that unless you've purchased your Q from a meticulous NICO member, it's going to take a bit of work to get it up to good condition. Mechanically speaking of course. Body work and such is much cheaper than drivetrain parts and labor, I believe.

These cars aren't for the penny pincher. Cutting corners today will come back and haunt you in the long run.

I fyou spend osme time reading the previous posts and Articles here, you will know a lot more after not very much time. this knowledge can save you thousands if applied wisely.

Doesn't sound like a bad car at all, but no maintenance history nor inspection by a senior Infiniti technician can hide a lot.

The question is why does the seller want to trade it for a car of equal value unless there is something wrong with the Q45 or he foresees some future major expenses or maybe its too hard to get it repaired in Hawaii?Question, in Hawaii or any other state do you have to pay sales tax on the transaction if you trade a car for one of equal value? If you do that alone would probably eat up any savings in gas expenses for switching to a more gas miserly car, at least in the short run.

Sorry, I "mis-read" your original post.

I agree, doesn't sound bad, but ask for some maintenance records (plugs, o2's knock sensors, etc). See if it has an external transmission filter, how does the trans fluid look, etc.

I'll be with 90k on it your going to be looking at 4-5k in defered repairs and also the slew of 100k parts that will go in the next few years. However, if you do not do a ton of driving this could be a fun car to own. I say if you do not do a ton of driving because that car is gonna get 16-17 mpg and with Hawaii' gas prices that is going to add up quick.

I'd offer the dude 1500 bucks and see what he says...if that price if the car ends up as a lemon you can probably flip it for that price...I'd keep the Talon and just have this as an extra car, that way you have a better MPG car and you can get the Q up and running over time.

i'd say the question is not "how much is it worth?" but rather "how much are you willing to spend to drive it?". there is a lot of cost associated with rehab and mainetence on these cars.

i bought a '90 with 114k miles for $900 not long ago. so far i have spent right at $4k and haven't even dreamt of driving it yet.

Be prepared to spend alot of money or watch it fall apart slowly. Slowly if you're lucky.
