Metallica - And Justice For AllAnthrax - Sound of White NoiseTOOL - 10,000 DaysSeether - Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces

Haven't put anything else in the changer since I got the car in Feb, as the stock system completely sucks so I just listen to morning talk radio driving in to, and some 80-90's rock station driving out from, work.

Hope to get a real audio system put in within the next year...

"Completely sucks" is a very relative term. Compared to what, the high-end optional radios on luxury cars?

I grew up driving cars that had 10W 2-speaker AM/FM radios (not even cassette decks). The changer is light years past that. If you need louder, you're probably going deaf. And about to aggravate it by using louder music.

Even high end optional radios on "luxury cars" suck....OEM's know little about building and tuning a system to get as much sound quality, sound staging, and imaging as possible. And on the same hand, most consumers still think more is better... so if a manufacturer can say "well, our car comes with 11 speakers, 4 amps, and provides 1000 watts of power, so you know we're not playing around!", and now the consumer is duped into believing that more is better. This couldn't be further from the truth, imo. And exactly why I didn't shell out the extra money for the oh so "elite" Rockford Fosgate joke of an audio system factory upgrade.

I'm talking about pure sound quality, not getting it louder... loud is stupid. I prefer to truly listen to music, not just hear it. I'm far from deaf and I want to keep it that way for as long as possible. Thanks for assuming, though.

My plans include a single small SQ-oriented subwoofer, a set of 6.5" component speakers up front in the factory locations, a single amp to power everything, and losing the rear speakers altogether. All through the factory HU and an external signal processor+LOC.

Still think the stock system is good (with sub). I've had much worse stock systems.

CDs:-Alabama Greatest hits CD 2-Beastie Boys - Ill Communication-Sublime - Sublime-Tenacious D - Tenacious D-Live - Throwing Copper-MP3 CD with about 100 songs

Then plug in the phone (MP3) in Aux jack for about 300 songs on it.

Oh, I have too... grandparents gave me their '85 Celebrity when I was just about done with college and my car was totalled from being rear-ended. Had an AM radio with only a single speaker in the middle of the dash.

Six MP3 disks right now. According to my database, they've holding:

Two albums by Rod Stewart2-CD set of songs of the American Revolution and Civil War~11 CDs of the Battlefield BandFour Chieftains albums2-CD set of colonial and revolution musicSix d!ck Jonas CDs (Air Force pilot songs)Two Gilbert and Sullivan CDs3-CD set of Frank SinatraCD of German beer garden sons6 CDs by Hank Cramer4 Jimmy Buffet CDs1 zydeco CD6 Albums by Oscar BrandPaul Simon 2-LP set2 Queen CDs.4-CD Randy Newman setSongs of the 7th Cavalry2 CD set of Talking HeadsSongs of WWI (2 CD set)6 Stan Rogers CDs1 Steel Drum band CDAbout a dozen soundtrack albums (such as the South Park movie), another dozen musical CDs ("Spamalot," for instance)."In Country" a collection of Vietnam War military songsSix CDs of sea chanteysPlus CDs of the Grateful Dead, the Beatles, Michael Johnson, the Police, Elvis Costello, etc. etc.etc.

When I hit the "Random" button, I want the selection to be TRULY random, not just another flavor of the same type of music.

All that Remains - This Darkened Heart

Quo Vadis - Live is Montreal
