Whats going on, Arizona?

So I came home yesterday to hear my old man ranting and raving about how the messican drug cartels are taking over Arizona. He is a bit of a right wing nut so i just brushed him off and told him to stop getting worked up over propogandus, un-cited emails he gets from his Fox news worshiping pen pals (wow neither of those are actual words? oh well, u get the idea)

He said I know nothing of the way the world works *bla bla bla*. My response was that at least I know enough when to claim ignorance. And on this topic, I had no idea.

Anyway, I did some research today for my own sake. And to my surpise, his exaggerated, seemingly crazy point of view seems to be correct . . . according to a few articles i have found.

Doesn't look like they're taking over Arizona, per se. They've secured themselves a path to ship drugs; I doubt they'd go much further than that. Would draw too much attention from people heavy weapons.

I just made it back from a 2 weeks stay in Scottsdale/Phx and the news is some what reporting border issue, at least the news I watched. Seemed a little exaggerated.

True. My apologizes Like I said... the news was a little over exaggerated in my opinion while I was there. I'll be back there for the Cardinals game for a week or so and I'll see if anything changes.

Actually, all is well here in the AZ. The illegals are heading for "friendly territory" like CA and NM, the job market is flinching back to life, the housing market has touched bottom and is beginning to recover, and we're heading into the best weather of the year.

Yes, the news of all such chaos and mayhem IS exaggerated. UpStar, enjoy the game. I live about 10 miles NW of the stadium. Make sure you check out WestGate, and if you'll be in town longer, let me know and I can give you a few more pointers on stuff to see.
