Well, im planning to make my A32 96 I30 my project car and show car. In the future im planning to add either a turbo or a supercharger. The question is, for this car, what is better? If I go into turbo-ing it, I have no idea what to do. If I go supercharger, Im planning to put headers + y-pipe, supercharger, and then jwt ecu upgrade. Any suggestions on this?

Another thing, what do I have to do to prep my car and engine? Tuneup, sparkplugs, new piston and rods? Struts and coils? The more suggestions the better. I dont want my car to fall apart on me.

I apologize ahead of time if these questions have been asked before. I checked and couldnt find them but can't always be sure

Turbo vs S/C really depends on what you're going for. It also depends on what type of supercharger you go with (roots, centrifugal, etc.). A roots-type supercharge will mean huge gains on the low end, but less gains up top. Centrifugal supercharger or turbo(s) will be the opposite.

Engine internals are stout in the VQ. Unless you plan on making in excess of 500 horses, you're probably safe with even stock fuel injectors. With the

You'll want (need) to do at least headers and y-pipe for super or turbo. If the car can't breathe out, breathing in better doesn't do a lot of good. Coilovers or new shock/spring combo is definitely a good idea as well. There has been a lot of discussion over the last few days regarding 4th gen suspension. Read up on some of those threads.

thanks man, Im a bit hesitant to actually put a turbo, drilling holes is always something that I've had bad experiences with.

In excess of 500 horses.... Well I certainly don't see the reason to have 500 horses within this first year. But who knows, I may try to push more in the future I know, I must be sick in the head to do that to a nissan cefiro

time to check out the suspension topics

I believe the Stillen SC for the VQ30 is a centrifugal style. I don't think there is a roots-style available for the Maxima.

Stillen V2 + smaller pulley + FMIC + headers + ECU + hi-flow cat + cat-back = pretty damn good power. Would probably want some form of air-fuel/boost controller as well.

At this point, very few with a boosted Maxima have hit >500hp. The only one I can think of was Hal. Most boosted Maxima's are low to mid 300hp with a couple up to low 400's.
