240 Gen is for general, non technical, discussion about S-Chassis vehicles, your question is about a wastegate, and you did not post anything in detail about your setup. Since your info said KA the thread was moved to the KA-T section.

If you want technical help please post in the appropriate sections. Also please post your setup in detail so others can help better.

To me, Tial 38 and 44 are the 'standard'. Turbonetics apparently made some crappy WG's but I think they've since introduced a new design. HKS is usually overpriced IMO.

I'm curious about the JGS400. Any experience with one?

I have always used tial in the past for external wastegates with no problems and i have used forged wastegates for any turbo with a internal wastegates

If you want name brand, go with Tial.

I would state my personal preference, but it's usually useless information anyways.

Precision just came out with a 46mm gate that's cheaper than a tial 44, vband too of course.

I bought a used tial 38mm FWIW, Tial IS THE standard for gates...

Tial is definitely the 'standard' for waste gates.

I have a JGS, whatever comes with their KA-T turbo starter kit, IIRC it's the JGS400. I haven't had any problems with it, and I like it.

I ran a tial 38mm but I had to purchase an extra spring to set my base boost at 18psi(at the mani) so I will be going with the new precision 46mm kit(mounts to 44mm tial vband flange) for my KA-T build this winter.

Either of these comes with all the springs you need for any boost setting.
