I'm swapping a manual in shortly (friend owns salvage yard, peicing all stuff needed for me, for $250, including transmission :)) and I'm getting a JUN chromoly flywheel from a friend (90% chance, nothing final yet) whos not using his KA anymore, so I'd like to know what clutch I should go with. I might be turboing my KA, so I'd like opinions based on that (otherwise I'll just get an oem replacement). If I get an aftermarket one, it will be because I've decided I'm going turbo, if I go turbo, I'll want atleast 450hp, so please base your answers on that. Thanks to all who take time to help me out with this decision.

There was some talk that you can have some high performance clutch for the Nissan P/U with the KA24DE that's streetable and very high torque capacity. It would have to be modified to fit the 240, but that's all i know. Anyone remember this???

I'd either go with the NX1-HDSS or the NX1-HDR6. I have used both, or very similer. The HDSS is a more slippable clutch, The HDR6 is a bit more of a button style. But you'll have problems with anything less once you hit boost. Of course thats just my opinion.

I use a Star spec 2 street clutch. I love this clutch it’s so smooth and has such a nice petal feel not to hard and not to soft and grabs like a biotch very well priced too. Star spec is from Alabama yeehaw! They have been making clutches for Rustangs and Corvettes for a long time. And I like the fact that they DO NOT MAKE FWD CLUTCHES... check em out

Does Star make a clutch for the 240, I thought they were Domestic only. They do make an excellant clutch as well.

Yes Spec does make clutches for Nissans, check out enjukuracing.com they have them on there.

If your planning on going for 450 hp, your going to need a serious clutch, seeeing as im around 375-ish hp on my ka-t and working on a Spec Star stage 3, which is rated to 360-ish lb ft.

Plus, the Spec star Stage 3 is the same as the Clutchmasters stage 5. Also I run a act stree/strip clutch in my NA s14, and i love that thing to death, its been down the strip many, MANY times and never even slipped.
