Hi , I was thinking of using a walbro GSS342 fuel pump in my project... apparently it has an out put of 43 psi and will flow 233 lph, will this pressure be too much for the stock regulator and will it flow enough gas for the engine... any help would be appreciatedThanks Robb

Just use a Q45/Z32 300ZXTT fuel pump

i only have the front half of an hg50 infinity so there is no fuel pump controller, as i understand it the stock pump has a variable speed driver to control fuel flow to the regulator, I want EASY had a look for a pump controller but it was worth more than my house for new one... maybe i could install an after market fuel reg as well ??

The Q45 oem pump is 255 LPH at 43.4 psi but the longevity assumes good control of voltage -- no more than is need to function correctly.

Less than 5% of time having full +12-14 volts [crank and WOT]

Applying full voltage is wasteful of pump life and one should use the least expensive pump and keep spares on hand. Not to mention extra noise.

Stock regs and pulse dampeners seem to survive 60-70psi ocassionally as I use a blocked return for a few 5 second intervals to spit out the injector filter screen crud.

ok, so what im getting from this is the stock Q45 pump is ultra strong and reliable , but if i run it on full volts the whole time i will have to be wary of reliability issues, on the other hand the walbro pump is a viable alternative but dont expect it to last for ever or deliver ultimate performance... how about running a Q45 pump at 10 volts through a voltage divider... my wagon is going to be a cruiser with very little hard use... just the odd squirt when i come up against some tosser in a piece of crap with a blow off valve and a blond bimbo in the passenger seat.... does any one know what sort of liters per hour the VH45 needs at wot

A decent rule of thumb is 0.5 pound per horse power hour, so 300 HP is 150 pounds [21 gallons] [80 liters] per hour or 2.5 pounds per minute.

In order to regulate a return type system the pump peak should be 3 times higher than the usage 80 x 3 ~~ 240 liter/hr.

Remember these spec are for a brand new pump and the capacity falls month by month of use as the pump rpm declines.
