My stock clutch is starting to go... I want to get an aftermarket clutch that performs well but won't burn a hole through my wallet... What do you recommend?

I like ACT about 350 bucks but remember you get what you pay for i learned that the hard way hope you don't also. Heavy Throttle sells them and im sure that Enjuku does and most likely most of the other vendors do also

I have a Clutch Masters Stage 1 and I love it, good clutch, a tad cheaper than ACT as well.

i put an act stage II kit in mine it works really well the only thing is that when i changed it the pedal kept losing pressure i found out that it was the pivot ball that the fork piviots on so if i were you get a higher preforming piviot ball before you put the transmission back up if you dont you might have to take it back down just to replace one little pice that you could of fixed the first time. take it from experience at least check the pivot ball and make shure its in good condition other wise your going to bw waighting for the delar to special order it. a lot of head ace can come from this pice and you will never know its broken unless some one is helping you. but yah act rocks!:ylsuper

Hmmm It's prob going to be either ACT or clutch masters... I do have enough money for both.

Im planning to have a shop install it.. How long does it usually take a shop to install a clutch?

Why not Spec? I've read plenty of horror stories and bad manufacturing on the account of Spec, i dont have any first hand accounts but bad rumors is worse than no rumors. ACT and clutch masters is one good selection, doesnt matter which one you pick you'll still get a great product, so enjoy.

What about the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch? They have it for $236 over at PDM Racing. Any thoughts? I searched and found that isn't ideal for a turbo setup, due to it sometimes slipping when power is above 280 ft/lbs. But if I'll just be going n/a, would it suffice?

Dual friction clutches are nice, price seems good too, with NA i'm sure u wont pass the 280ft/lb mark, and for my clutch job i paid 280 for the clutch and 260 for labor, very well known shop in the area so i didnt mind the extra cost. But it all depends on the shop and the amount they charge per hour.

I guess you didn't catch on. ''dr!ft'' = my screen name. So, "dr!ft SPL" = my garage. :)

I have a Dual Friction. It's not bad. Not my favorite, but it's good.

I've actually done four 240sx clutch swaps. Two where on the lifts at my high school, and the other two where in my garage. First one was a b****, but after that, it got easier...
