I am at the end of my rope here I have tried everything: Eagle one wheel cleaner, rubbing alcohol, simple green as recommended by jesda from: http://q45.org/cleaningpiepans.html (even though I have Q45A wheels), goo be gone, and WD40.

So whats the board recommended product for brake dust remover?

I don't want to use brake parts cleaner or anything that bad and remove the clear coat thereby allowing moisture to build up and bubble up the wheel.

Try the "magic eraser", removed stuff nothing else would touch, follow up with a few coats of wax/sealant and future cleaning will be easier with only car soap/water/soft brushing needed.

Mild soap and water works wonderously.

Maybe Goof-off. I'd go with max's reccomendation though. It's sometimes amazing what soap and water can do when we have way too many fancy and expensive cleaners available. Get a stiff bristle brush to get inbetween the spokes also.

I swear by those magic erasers. They helped my friend and I get some white paint scuffs off of the bumper of her champagne ML 320.

I just spent $10 on a "Sonic-Scrubber" that allegedly oscillates 3600/minute. I'm going to try it out tomorrow and combine it with Meguiar's Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. Hopefully, it does something. Then I'll throw that NuFinish on there for future protection.

I use "autosol" metal polish on my chrome wheels.Makes light work of the tough to remove stains.

It requires a bit of effort, not just a spray on/hose off fix.....but if you want to do it right..........

Any decent spray on wheel cleaner should work (the hose off kind although you need to do more than hose.) You spray, wait a minute or two, then wash with a brush and soap. repeat applications if really dirty
