Wouldn't a 1994 or 1995 TCU work just as good?

from what i understand, no. a 1st gen Q (90-93) transmission, the 93 TCU will only work on the 90, 91, and 92 Q.

For what its worth, I'm running a 93.5 to 95 TCU in my 91 with excellent results, including the first gear start.

I am running a 95 TCU with a 92 transmission in my 95 car....(if that makes any sense) with no problems thus far. I have also run a 93 TCU in my 95 car with a 92 transmission and no problems either.

Hell....buy Wes's TCU from his 94 car and try it out. I would offer my 95 TCU, but it went back to JWT for the core refund as I am now running the JWT TCU and also have the 93 TCU sitting in my closet.
