searched and what i found said any z32 yoke will work for making a shaft for a rb25. I didnt remember if the z32 NAs and z32 turbos had different size shafts or not.

someone confirm please. thanks ahead of time.

btw: im looking for a z32 yoke if anyone is selling

You cant just do that, go to a driveshaft shop they can get brand new rebuildable yokes for you, and make you a whole shaft. If you use the stock z32 yoke and try to weld it on to some length of driveshaft it will be not balanced and most likely break.

hahaha well yeah i know that. Im getting them made i just have to supply the yoke and my old s14 shaft and they will make and balance a one piece steal shaft. They have made quite a few for the rb doing this same thing with no failure yet, with some of the car putting 400+ to the ground. but ive never thought about the rebuildability. is the z32 yoke not rebuildable? is it know for needing to be replaced?

I originally did the same thing you are planning to do, but got some wheel hop and snapped my S14 joint on my first launch at the drag strip. I'd spend the extra $25 for a larger rebuildable rear joint. Junk the S14 joint.

If the shop you are going to can't get a larger joint, go to another shop. A real driveshaft shop will have plenty bigger joints for stock cars and sprint cars and everything else (farm equipment maybe...). Don't settle for some POS if you're spending $150-250 on it.

S14

New and larger rear joint

New and larger transmission joint

Darius:

real quick when you said and showed you had a new transmission larger joint, was this still using the a z32 or rb25 spline(or what ever the piece is called that plugs into the transmission) or is this one piece joint and pline that the shaft shop sources out.

I'm not exactly certain because I brought them my broken driveshaft and told them to make me a better one. They might have used the front part of the Z32 yolk and put on a new half of a joint that connects to the shaft. I do know that the part of the joint that is welded to the shaft is new, but I cannot be sure about the part of the joint that actually inserts into the transmission.

just realized that part of my question wasnt answered. Are the N/A z32 and turbo yokes the same size? i need to know to tell the shop what to source out to make the shaft.

When I had my DS made, I just specified 'Z32 yolk' and it fit perfectly. I _believe_ the output shaft on both Z32 transmissions are the same.

I would be quite surprised if they were different. Have that shop check their part numbers for NA and TT. They should be the same...

If they are different, I would go with a Z32 NA to be safe though.

cool thanks lonestar. i thought about asking about the numbers to see there was a difference but still needed somewhere to start with.

i have everything needed to get a RB25 in my car besides the motor and with out the motor i cant get a shaft measurement and cant get "Carl H" to convert the harness. The two shops i have searching for a motor for me have yet to find a motor for me. I gave them a price range that they both said was easily obtainable but its half way through my break between semester and still no motor, im getting annoyed to say the least,
