I think we have all known this, since e-mail is generally sent clear-text without encryption, but the amount of freedom we have lost in this country in the past two to four decades is just head-shakingly unreal.

And, yet, we have the gall to claim that North Korea and China and others are worse!!! Really?

I remember the hype about "monitoring cameras" during the Tiananmen Square stand-off in 1989 in China, that was also quickly quietened when people pointed out that in the US (and most other western nations) we had more public cameras monitoring our citizens than the Chinese did theirs!
