I posted this at 240forums but had no answer so I thought I'd post it here too. Any help is appreciated. "I know that a lot of people are doing the sr swap now but I was wondering what you get for the money? some people are only charging $800 but does that include FMIC and gauges? Boost controller and turbo timer? I know the parts cost extra but do most people charge extra for the install of these or do they come as part of the initial install price?? Anybody know what you get from afterdark, Heavy throttle, Unstable, etc.....I know that FMIC and Guages and all additional hoses, clamps, etc are included in the 1200 dollar install at my shop but wondering if these are the reasons others charge less? "

I believe the way Wayne does it with his SR swaps is $1500 for labor, then an extra $100 gets you all your goodies installed, assuming he doesn't have to tear the engine apart of course. I think that's a reasonably good deal; if I had had him do my swap, I would have definitely taken advantage of that. I had a gang of bolt-ons.

Wow, so T4 is well priced huh?? Yeah 1200 usually gets you FMIC, engine transmission swap, boost gauge and EGR. TT and Boost controller can usually be negotiated for very little more, sometimes not anymore at all. Of course you do have to buy the guages but the labor to put them in and tune them is included in the swap price!!!

SLW<---- you can email me also if we don't meet up on AIM anytime soon.

We don't do the swaps anymore, but we charged $1500 to install everything purchased from us except head gasket, turbo upgrade and VLSD, which were extra. Guages, timers, boost controller, fuel pump, FMIC, engine accessories - all was included.

A55 kissing aside, did you say "no more swaps"? How could this be?

We charge $1000 for the install, so long as it's nothing too strenuous we don't charge for additional parts so long as they're purchased through us. Any part that isn't purchased through us is subject to a 55/hr labor charge. Enjoy your day!

Yeah it's me. How's everyone doing? I love the 'driving mom's car' in my profile...... heh heh heh

No more swaps - unless it is a special project. Running the business 10-12 hours a day left only nights and weekends to do customer cars, unless we trained a full time mechanic it just wasn't working out anymore. Oh well, we did a lot of swaps and both can now enjoy working on our own cars again!
