My car has the dull grey pie pans and centrecaps, they look horribly dreary on a dark grey car. I'm wondering what years had the polished / chromed pie pans. If I can find a set I'd like to get them for my summer wheels.

Good question! I've wondered the same thing for the longest. You dont see very many of them, but they sure do look goodon the Q45 though!!!

I had to buy a set when i found them at a reasonable price.David Sagers sold me a set, he's a member here on NICO.They really need to be re-chromed again because thechrome is peeling or flaking off about every one of them.

They can be re-chromed for $130 a piece. The only bad thing isthey wont rechrome the center piece because it is not metal.

Never available from Nissan.

In fact there is a TSB voiding OEM warranty of Nissan wheels chromed by third parties for reason of weakening them by that process.

I think the 90 and 91 came with the dull finish, and then the 92-94 came with the brighter brushed finish. The real issue is finding decent tires in a 15" size. 18" FX wheels look great on the 1st gen.

I agree that they look good, but they are so damn expensivecompared to the factory size.

I'm happy with 15 inch wheels, tyres are so much cheaper. I don't autocross the thing so I don't need super sticky rubber. I have a spare set of Michelin sport tyres, ideally I'd like to get a set of nice OEM rims to mount them for the summer, keep my winter tyres on the old ugly rims.

I'm thinking of the brushed wheels, they are definitely OEM because you see them in Infiniti ads. I wasn't sure if they were chromed or just bare metal, but I guess your responses clear that up.

If you like the 15" the BBS forged wheels from the t and a models are strong and light. Much better than the cast wheels. There is also a classic earlier forged one.

I bought a perfect set of chrome centres for the piepans, but ended up buying the BBS mesh ones for my snow tires. Let me know if you need/want them.

Chris,

I have 3 of these taking up space in the garage open to offers. There are always singles available on eBay.

A clean set of BBS or OZ wheels would suit the Q nicely. I agree, though, that the chrome piepans are nice. They look like silver medallions.

Hi Chris,

I've been working a lot lately - not much time to partake of NICO.

I haven't got a picture of the caps, but I can find them tomorrow and take one for you. They are in perfect condition, though. I paid $18 for them last fall.

The wheels are also in perfect condition, although there is one surface scratch about 1/4" - 1/2" long on one. This scratch is really faint and not even deep enough to feel. I only found it after a close inspection. I'll put a picture below with the scratch circled.

They are 18"x7.5" with a 40mm offset - just bolt them on - nothing needed to make them fit. 245/45x18 would be the perfect size for them - about 1/2" larger diameter than stock - enough sidewall for rough roads and not so big as to screw up your speedometer.

I'll give you the lot for $450 plus shipping. They charge $30 per wheel in the lower 48, so I'd have to check with the Sumas, WA post office for cost to you. Shipping from Canada would be horrendous.

Cheers,Glenn
