I have been searching for quite some time for some information.

I am aware that the 1990-1996 Q45 came with the R200V differential that had a 30 spline count output shaft with the diameter of 30.7mm. The same shaft that is used in the z32 twin turbo differential which is an R230. I have found that some of the TT guys try to find the Q45 output shafts as they are supposedly the same and will snap right in perfect.

Ok, that being said, I am now trying to find out if the later Q45's came with that same 30 spline 30.7mm output shaft. I know they are still the R200V however, the information that I have been coming across tells me that they are the same as the J30's along with the N/A z32's and the 240sx (if equipped). These are NOT 30 spline. They are 29 spline 29.8mm output shafts. Again this is for 97 and later with the R200v. Can anyone confirm this?

Please do not post in this thread if your information is not 100% accurate. There is a lot of mis information out there that I have found while searching. I dont want anyone adding to it. Sorry.

The 4.08 rear diff in the non turbo Z will bolt into and hook up to a Y33.This has been talked about, much. Because the G50 has more splines, I had to use just the ring and pinion out of the 4.08. Worked well with some TLC.After 8K of hard driving (150 shot nos) it's still going. So your assumption is correct it is not the 30 spline obviously since I could not fit my axles into the Z diff. Same case, different insides. What are you looking to do, Bub?

Thank you for that. I didn't want to pull that diff with it being the smaller one.

Ok you ready? This is my plan.

90-96 q45 diffs are the R200V with the 30 spline output's. I currently have an 88 300zx CLSD in my car (1985 300zx). Also an R200. I was thinking of taking the carrier out of the diff, putting it in my diff case. Using the output shafts and PART of the half shafts. They are a BDO half shaft, therefore I am thinking I can take them apart and mix and match my half shaft to work with those, so everything will bolt to my 85Z. I have modern motorsport 33 spline axle stubs and companion flanges already.

If taking internals out of the case and swapping over wont work, I can always fab up some kind of bracket to hold the Q diff in place.

Basically, I am trying to hybrid a rearend that will hold 1.3 60' launches from a 3000lb vehicle.
