Well, my Lumina has been nice to me, but the lack of aftermarket accessories and its age have made it really hard for me to get faster, so I'm looking for something new. I saw a 240sx, and I loved it. I like all years basically, they each have their own good looks, but I don't know which would be a better idea to get. I can probably get 7-8k to buy one. Insurance is my first worry, are they all about the same on insurance or are the older ones cheaper? I would like to have a 95-96, but I still can't find enough info. Reliability, problems, etc. I also want to mod the hell out of my next car, so are there turbo kits and all that readily available, or what engine would be best for a daily driver? I know someone will tell me to search more, but I have been searching for the last few days and I want some peoples opinions. I will be getting it next spring probably...so, yep.

Thanks...

Well if I were you I'd buy a 91-94 for around $2-3k and use the left over money for an sr20 and suspension/handling mods and have yourself a rather quick and nimble vehicle. I suggest this cause you said you like all year models and this way you'd have money left over to do modding.

However if you're determind to get an s14 it'll be hard to find a good one for anything less then $7,000 or $8,000. 240's are very reliable cars as long as they've been well maintained and you keep current fluid changes and keep your services up to date.

I found a 97 240sx SE for $5900. Has 68k miles/5spd/leather. The only thing I saw that kinda scared me is it said FWD. Did they not know it was RWD or is it really front?

It's RWD, Owner is either confused or it's a typo.

Man, I hope that's a typo.

I got my 95 se for $6000, but it had/has it's problems. I was however, aware of them at the time of purchase.

Where in Indiana are you? If you can make it to Indy, you can drive my S13 to see if you like them (you will!).

Also, Cold_Zero and I are trying to get some Central Indiana people together to go to the NICO meets in KY. Maybe even get a Central Indiana chapter of NICO.

Feel free to email me at [email protected]. We'll help you out if you like.

Thanks for the offer! I don't plan to go to Indy any time too soon to take you up on it, but I appreciate it. That 97 240 sold on Friday, so thats not gonna work anymore, but if anyone finds one (preferably a 5-speed) in the IN area, I would appreciate it.

That's cool. What part of the state are you in?
