So I'm having a big debate with Nissan right now that my Rogue does not have the correct Maps installed.

When you use the Map Software PC App, it shows I currently have the 2017.04 Update 5 Maps installed. And it says there is no updates. But if you click Add Maps, it shows 2018.6 maps listed. It will download them all (which is a really large update). But then when you insert the thumb drive back in the Rogue it says its not compatible with your version of the car.

I can't believe the latest Maps are 2017 and even if so why would it give the options for 2018 maps. On the version info page it says: Map Version: 0bf853dec7495d2111b49... So I'm curious what other folks maps list.

Thanks,

The latest is 2018.06 No idea why there is no 2019 yet. Try the following but it could take a while. I use battery charger and set to low voltage when I was performing these steps.

Format your USB and reset your GPS to default
Download Map information to the USB (try don't download software information to USB)
Go to Installed Maps --> Manage Maps --> then Delete all the Individual State maps
Go to Add Maps --> Reset Maps
Try install maps using USB
If it doesn't work, download Software information to USB --> Try install maps using USB (no need to repeat other steps)

Hope this will work.

Ya so this is my issue. I tried deleting all the maps. It lets me delete everyone but Canada which it gives me an error on.

Then when I try to do the reset map full 2018.6 download, I get an error message that the maps version is not compatible with my car.

So right now I have no Maps on the car but Canada. It will let me redownload the 2017.4 maps individually and install them but the 2018 map reset never works.

If the steps I provided in last post does not work. Try the followings
1) Go to your car, connect to wireless network, Go to Info, Update Software, Check Update, then try installation again, if you do not have the correct software, the map cannot be installed
2) Please do #1 first before #2. Go to https://apps.nissan.navshop.com/en_us/pctoolwin.html download the newer version of tool, just download and install, and try remove individual maps, and reset North America 2018
3) If #1 and #2 do not work, go to https://www.nissanusa.com/navigation-sy ... dates.html, you should see a red toolbar on the right hand side of the webpage, select livechat and ask for assistance

Have a good weekend and good luck!!

yep, definitely have the latest version of the software and the map installer software. Also tried that chat and they tell you they only provide helper for older cars not the newer ones with the free map downloads. Can you take a photo of your installed Map page and Add Map page? Been going back and forth with Nissan and been to 2 dealerships. None of them say there is an issue. But clearly there is and this all started after they replaced my head unit.

I just want to see if yours shows 2018.6 under installed maps.

Did you try calling their toll free number? HERE (previously called Navteq) supports models up to 2018. From 2019 onward the maps are from TomTom.

For phone support, contact the HERE Customer Call Center at the following numbers:

U.S.A. and CANADA: 1-888-628-6279
MEXICO: 01-800-557-5539

Wait, so the maps on the 2019 Rogues are made by TomTom?

The 2018's use TomTom maps too. That is when they switched from the SD card to just downloading the maps to the car's Nav system. And yes I've tried calling everyone, Tom Tom, Navteq, Nissan Corporate. That is why I need confirmation from someone that their screen shows the 2018.6 maps installed and not the 2017.4 maps.

When I checked the navigation system update page (https://www.nissanusa.com/navigation-sy ... dates.html), It has two options: 2019 and newer/2018 and prior. When you click 2019, it will lead to tomtom's map page, but if you click 2018, it leads to nowhere. I think only 2019 and newer could use the PC tool to update 2018 maps from Tomtom. For 2018 Rogue, we can only use "2017 update 5".

Another thought, since the 2018 map is for whole north america, I guess you have to delete all maps to install/reset. So fix the Canada's error first?

My Rogue is also 2018. I am downloading 2018 right now (slowly) and going to try it out this week or next week. Let's see.

At least the 2018 Rogue Hybrid uses the TomTom maps, that I can guarantee. I'm pretty sure Nissan's website is wrong. Not all the 2018 models got the upgraded head unit that had Android Auto/Apple Play which is when they switched from an SD card to internal memory.

OK. It is much quicker than I thought. Here is my results.

I first saved the map version information to USB. PC tool told me I have 23 updates available since my maps were all "2017 update 4". The newest version is "2017 update 5". I ignored that and selected "2018.06" from "full map reset&update". It was 14.84GB. After downloaded to USB driver, I took it to car and installed it normally (no error message). And it took about 30 minutes to finish. I then saved the map version information to my USB again and took it inside. NOW the PC tool told me no available updates. The installed maps tab shows all of my maps is "2017 version 5".

So as my understanding, what we saw in "full map reset&update" is just a whole package of "2017 version 5", though it was called "201806" somehow. Let me know if you have questions.

@howie411, called Nissan for you. Apparently, the software is designed to show 2017.04 update 5, but it is actually a 2018 update. Please make sure your car has software 0154 and you should be able to reset your map to 2018.06. However, the software may show 2017.04 Update 5. I hope this can help solve your issue.

Thank you Benjumin, but that's the odd thing, the reset map option doesnt work for me. I can download them individually but I can't do a full reset. Though if your telling me the 2017.04 update is really the 2018 maps then that is fine since that is what is installed. Its just odd the reset option isnt working.
