What year is the best/most (Q45) popular to get Motor fromfor swaps

Like the title says what year is the best to get the motor for a swap from all are silimar but what year or years do you all like the best???????????

Depends on the shape of the torque curve you want between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm [the lower runner and cylinder intake port]. 90-93 vs 94-95.

1996 is OBDII and has no VVT and other evils.

i know old topic but lets say hypothetically just keeping it completely NA in stock form which would be best with a J30 rear diff...also curious about what route to take the ecu...ive ran jim wolf for the past few years in my J with no problems...should i go the same way with this....we currently have a 95 VH thats going to go into my J...just wondering what can be done to squeeze every last bit out of her...also does it matter which year transmission i go with or should it be same year?
