Are you looking to buy a coupe or sedan? That would probably yield different answers to your questions...

Like Jerome says, it depends on whether it's a coupe or sedan.I would go with a 04 coupe (some manual transmission problems prior) and an 05 sedan (more hp than prior). However, in considering a used 05 sedan, I would have to see how low the dealerships are going on new leftover 06 sedans.

For coupes:

05...but I'm biased

03-04 brake dust issue, stereo not up to par, older

06-07 Crappy spoiler, expensive

08...not a fan of the redesign

Sedan:

07 is very, very nice

I agree with Joe as he summed it up good. Couldn't have said it better myself!

Oh....plus I think there was an issue with excessive tire wear on the '04's but can't remember??

As usual...+1 for Joe.

Also, what are you looking for in a car? What is important to you?

I would wait until 2009 until the bugs are out of the 2008 update.

Yes, get an '04. The '03 had some transmission problems from what I recall. Get an '04 6MT

^I'm with Jerome. When I was considering a used coupe I had determined that the 04 was the one based on the transmission issues in the 03. But, I've also heard that if you find an 03 that's been babied and you don't intend on running it hard, then an 03 would be a deal.

I own a 96 mustang with a weak transmission, but it was treated good by the prior owner and I haven't had any issues at 83K miles now and on the original clutch too.

Good luck!!

You forgot to add that the 03-04 interiors are quite subpar for the type of car they are. The 05 dash looks a hundred times better. Just look at the two first hand.

I just bought a creampuff 2003 in May with 7,900 miles - G35 Coupe fully loaded w/navigation, 35% tint, clear bra - the only thing I did was change the wheels. Car performed wonderfully on my cross country "test drive"

I got it for less than 24k including the expense of flying out to Cali and driving back to Baltimore. This is why I smile when I see folks paying 30k for the new altima coupe.

If the money is not an issue and looking for a sedan buy an 07 or 08 should come out soon. If coupe buy the 08 g37 will be out in days I think.

If you are thinking to buy a used, buy the newest possible with the lowest milage possible.

good luck

BTW welcome to nico

03 and 04 have brake issues(frequent changes, noisy) - someone mentioned the tire wear problem..I just go an 04..other than that, I'm pretty happy with it except to find that infinits have cheap paint..chips all over the front grill which I didnt notice before.

its not cheap paint, they just didnt install the clear plastic coating over the paint to prevent that. any cars paint is going to get dinged up from a few rocks

This is what my front bumper looked liked after the cross country trip. Luckily it had the clear bra on it.

Damn, is that normal for shorter trips? I'm considering getting a regular bra for 5 hour trips but it's already some what abused in the front so not sure if I will.

We've got the same here. If you take the smaller roads not major HWY your bumper looks like that. You have to de-bug your car every time. Some of them huge once you see the left over onn your car you'll like Damn monsters. All these suicido bugs.

Can't say I'm incredibly knowledgable about the different years but I can tell you what I've learned...

I bought an '03 sedan on May 31, '07.. I didn't do much research before buying. I was dead set on a black RSX-S but went to the dealership and was convinced to test drive the G - I drove it and loved it. It has under 50k miles and is very well taken care of (I'm the second owner).

I do love it BUT the front brake dust is VERY annoying - no problems with brake dust in the rear though - haven't noticed any issues with noisey brakes (as mentioned above). I'm not totally impressed with the sound (but working on putting a little "bump in the trunk" to help that).

The car drives like a dream and I haven't had any issues thus far. I'd have to give the interior big props when it comes to comfort - it is the most comfortable car I've driven (far exceeds the comfort of the Acura TL - in my opinion).

Step 1 = Get a 2003 Manual coupe still under warranty.

Step 2 = Get new 2007 transmission free.

Step 3 = Drive.

that's what I did...
