What would you recondition if your KA24DE was not in the car

Hows it?

Thanks everyone for being so helpful on my first two posts. My question is this;
If you yanked your 96 KA24DE motor out of the car and had a week or two to do some preventative work to it
A) What would you do?
2) In what order?

Maybe we can prioritize like
You'd be a complete idiot if you did not ---------------
You should probably -----------
It's a good if you have the money to -------------
It'd be awesome if you ------------

I'm in the situation (Kinda) and I'm probably looking only at advice from the top two choices. I tend to go overboard and I'm trying to reign myself in with this one.

So if you had your motor out and a LITTLE money to hopefully prevent future headaches what would you do?

Replace all the gaskets and seals.
Probably put in a new oil pump as well.

Pull your upper timing guide if it isn't already. But you can do that in the car pretty easy.

+1 on gaskets and oil pump. might as well change the front main seal while you're at it. PCV and IACV are a pain to get to when the motor is in the car, so if you want to freshen those up, now is a good time. If you're going to do emissions removal, nows a good time to do it.

Also make sure you clean the 15+ years of grease and dirt in your engine bay & make it look new while the motor is out.

Agree with the engine bay, seals, and leaks (or anything that can leak in the future).
