So, I quit the RB26 swap 350Z project and sold the 350Z. I tried to buy a Skyline, but NC insurance companies were being stupid and I didn't want that hassle. I decided against putting the motor in an S-chassis. Then I bought another '93 RX-7...and no, I'm not putting the motor in the FD (I like rotaries too much).

So now, I have this motor that I built last year just kind of hanging out and I don't know what I should do with it. Do I keep it until some later date when I finally decide to put it in something or do I sell it? Listed below is the buildup I have on the motor...

-93/94 R32 RB26DETT Engine (Late model crank)-Block bored and honed to 86.5mm-86.5mm CP Pistons-Polished and Balanced Crank-Calico Coated ACL Race Bearings (Rods and Mains)-ARP Rod Bolt Installed and Stock Rods Clearanced-Oil Passages Enlarged-Tomei 1.5mm Oil Restrictor-Tomei 1.2mm Head Gasket-ARP Headstuds-Resurfaced Head-Minor Head Polishing-3-Angle Valve Job-XS-Engineering Valve Guides-Clearanced Cams-Nismo Highflow Oil Pump-Tomei Oil Pan Baffling-Powdercoated Valve, Sparkplug, and Timing Covers-OS Giken Triple Plate Clutch/Flywheel-Modified Stock Oil Pan (Differential and Output Shafts Removed)-probably more that I am not thinking of

I also have an Uncut Harness, RB25 Transmission, and all of the rest of the motor stuff. No turbo parts right now, because it is on my RX7 instead.

Like I said, I really don't want to sell it (and THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE AD, so please don't ask for any parts). I more want guidance on what others would do if they were me.

Why did you ditch out on the 350Z swap? That sounds like a sweet project.

sounds like a pretty motor. I would keep it around in some glass until you find another suitable chassis to stick it in. Good things come to those who wait. You'll probably stumble across something one day, or wake up one morning with a great idea from some random dream or something. I'd just sit on it. It's not like its going to go bad over night. You could also charge ricers $5 a head to come see the enfamous 'GODZILLA' you have sitting in your living room. Either way, I'd sit on it until you get drunk one night and decide what to throw it in.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but personally I'd sell it for as much as I could to finance your FD build up. Sounds like a nice prebuilt setup for someone trying to do an RB26 s-chassis swap. GL with the FD man!!

I would put it in a vert, or hatch :-) s13 - if you put it in the vert, remove the b pillars and the seatbelts from the door (dumbest idea ever, if the door flies off, you are only going to be pushed out the door.....)

The reason is because of OBD-II ready status. I figured out a way so that the check engine light would never be on in the car, but I couldn't figure out a way to show a ready status. I had a ***** of a time getting a ready status on my car when it had the Greddy TT kit on it. Basically, it was no problem mechanically or with fitment...just a problem with being a pain in my ***, so I figured OBD-I was the way to go for me.

Here are couple of pictures I took before I decided to stop the project...

EDIT: I can't see the pictures...so here is the link... http://mp-racing.blogspot.com/....html

i doubt there is a market for a built, untested motor. but if you sell, your best bet for selling is probably trying to separate the trans and sell the longblock to someone with a gt-r who can afford it.

if you keep it, i'd suggest doing a VIP s13 vert

What do you mean by "ready status"? Is that for emissions?

Build a Super Sleeper. I keep toying with finding one of these cheap and drop the RB30 in it.

yea, all we got is the computer plug in, which requires the first and second 02 sensors to show a correct difference for a specific number of miles under different conditions.

oh man, this is sig material.

At first I thought it was to hide from inspections but it looked so obvious I had to ask.

S30 chassis would be my vote. Light and sleek with Nissan roots.

Ultima GT-R

Sounds cool to me, but you might sell the FD and buy a Geo to fund that one!

I just really like Ultima's

I'd go with a S Chassis, thats such a waste of a RB if it goes into nothing.. And I know selling it would be hard, cause after all you sold the Z and kept the RB

several things come to mind.

z32 2+2r31r30s12280zxz31datsun 2 door rwd maxima (810)

or you could go real nutz and put it in one of the old hardbody datsun pickups.

For non-nissan, probably an old bmw m3, m5, m6 or 8 series.

My dad bought, in 1979, a new Datsun 280ZX. He put about 17,000 original miles on it and then gave it to my sister. I think the car now has about 40,000 miles on it, and it is sitting in her garage for the last 4 years now doing nothing.

The car is in immaculate condition-as in the interior-but it is not running.

I'm tempted to buy it off of her and do something like this-it would be a dream!!!
