If you had $3,100 you could spend anyway you wanted, consequences be damned, what would you buy with it and why?

I'll reveal the reason I asked tomorrow. Everyone chime in please and thank you!

As for myself, the smart thing to do would be use it on tuition. Realistically speaking, it would probably end up in the garage fund. A pair of LS motors would be sweet. One for the Miata, one for the 620. :chuckle:

Buy a set of rims and tires, lower my car, paint my grille, paint my headlights custom and paint my tailights, exhaust, intake.... If that was all done? Supercharge my g37 and drive it like I stole it!

Budget turbo Miata with a Flying Miata Butterfly Brace and a used hardtop.

That or a nice professional paint job and new seats.

If I gave it to the wife, it'd pay off debt. If I kept it, it'd go towards welding equipment and suspension components.

Since we're dreaming, I'd buy one of those portable lifts and a welder. Or an engine for the Firebird.

Realistically speaking, it'd end up in my 401k or going towards student loan debt or a credit card.

For me no half the fun is building the car. The 1.8 04-05 is vvt and brings some complication to the mix. Nice find though!

I'd probably put it towards my business loan(s) or the house. Those things kick my a** and I want out from underneath them ASAP.

Cool ideas! Pretty much what I expected to here. All reasonable, at least in our world. ;)

Here's why I asked. $3,100 is the price of the cheapest ticket to the Superbowl next weekend. (They go up to $565K for a 30 person suite :ohno: ).

Now that you know why I asked, would any of you rather spend that $3,100 to go to the Superbowl instead? I love football. More than almost all women I know and a lot of the men I know. However, there is no way in hell I would drop that kind of money to go see a football game. Not when I could watch the game in the comfort of my own home eating food that doesn't cost a fortune, drinking a beer that doesn't cost $20, and I don't have to stand in line to go pee. :chuckle: Plus, it's in JERSEY....right next to NYC, both of which are going to be just insane to try and travel within. AND It's going to be cold. Frigid cold. No freaking thank you.

any takers?

I LOOOVE sports. Preferably basketball, soccer, and football. But if Jordan and Nike can't get me to buy their $200 basketball shoes, there's no way the NFL is getting $3100 out of me. It'd be a hot New Jersey winter before that happens.

Sad part is that ticket is just the cost to get in the door. And it's not just in Jersey, the stadium is literally in the middle of a swamp known as the nicer sounding "Meadowlands"- (it's true). So if you're crazy enough to stay in NYC next weekend, which already has some of the highest hotel room rates in the country, you still have to get to/from the stadium. And from NYC, that's mass transit, baby, you don't rent a car in NYC. That also assumes they don't postpone the game due to weather conditions. Remember, that overly hyped polar express has been periodically dropping the area temps to zero with negative wind chills. But once you're inside the stadium and the game is confirmed on, after the searches and inspections, your wallet will steam for some of the highest priced beer and food in the league. And once that steam subsides, you freeze your tush sitting in a plastic seat so high up, your ears pop, and smell the jet fuel fumes from the jets in the nearby landing path to Newark Airport. But hey, on the plus side, you should be able to see (with good binoculars) Bruno Mars lip synch something dreadful that you've probably never heard before, and be spared the sanctimonious cliché filled tv commentary of Joe Buck, while watching 22 dots representing two teams you care less about than the score at the end of each quarter that you hope ends in a 6 and 0 to recoup a small fraction of what you spent on that ticket. Uh, no thanks.

The only sport I watch live anymore is hockey. Cheap tickets, you can pound on the glass and generally see the entire ice pretty well from anywhere in the rink.

I don't watch tv at all. We have one tv in the house it's a samsung 42" dlp that I. Bought in 2006 so it does not gave a digital tuner and therefore does not get any channels.

I follow the az cardinals ...... On the radio. I watch the Super Bowl almost every year at someone else's house.

So no I would not waste any amount of money ongoing to the game. If I won a free trip I would sell it for turbo miata parts and header, cams and a clutch for my Altima

For these teams... hell no, although I do kind of like the Broncos. If my Panthers made it... just no :D

It all depends on if that's 5% of your annual income or 0.5% I guess.
