So I am a big fan of Limited Edition cars. I currently have a 2007 Touring Z, I have 3 1/2 years to go on my loan. Lately I have been fighting the urge to buy the Nismo Z. I would really like your opinion if I should go for it or not. I have my mind made up, but wanted to hear a couple of opinions, maybe there is something that I have not thought about. And by the way, I do know all the info about the Nismo Z.

Basically if I sold my car right now, I would have enough money to pay off my loan plus I would get a little money back. I went shopping around for a deal on a Nismo, guess what I found one for $34K.

If you were in my shoes, would you trade up? or pay off the current Z and just buy the parts later on. Please serious posts only, since this topic is dear to my heart. (we're talking about my Z)

you guys wouldn't believe this. i just got call from a dealer offering $7000 off a Nismo. So if the list is 38,500 that is like $31,500 for a Nismo. I just made an appointment to see the car this weekend. If all works out, I might have a Nismo in three weeks. The NIsmos are 2007 (but i guess that is good so the serial numbers would be low)

I guess if the deal don't go thourgh I still have a 350Z.

...but a Nismo....

If you have the desire for a Nismo, def do the real thing. Sounds like you already know what I'm talking about. Your 350 with the added parts wo'nt have the limited serial number. Hope the dealer has a great car for you.

Man up and do it if you can afford it. Don't be a ish LOL

J/K, but seriously if you can afford it you KNOW you'll like it more, and it just means your car can make someone else as happy as it made you.

I like the last part of what you wrote. So as you can guess I am going for it. Wish me luck. The only thing stopping me is the buying price If this dealer is really selling them for $7000 off sticker, then it is a done deal. But like we all know...if it's too good to be true, it probably is. I will be checking out the car this Saturday, Intenet manager says they can't sell them so they are discounting them big time.....must be the result of everyone having their eyes set on the GTR.

...just came from Carmax, I got a pretty good price too.

LOL tell me about it. My dealer left a message on my phone saying they have my G in my color for the price I originally wanted. I get in and am talking to the sales manager and the salesman and called him out on it and he goes...no I meant a black not blue slate 06 sedan with a black interior......funny how 4 days later he was fired.

GL with the purchase man, Now you can be all special and limited....and wear special new clothes!

you might save 4k on the sticker of the nismo but at what cost, (the nismo stickers at 38k so 34 k would be 4k off) you bought an 07 toudring model so about 35k? and trade in is what 26-28k? by my math that 4k savings would cost you around 9k, thats not good math, unless it's simply worth ththe extra 5k to you

You're good you just had my best interest in mind, which i appreciate it.

This comment just screams ignorance, since I didnt ask the question of whether to get the Nismo or wait for the new style.

correction, trade in on an 07 touring model is only 22k,so it's a 12k upgrade!

I know I was thinking this as well. I have to buy a Nismo for $36K out the door for this to work, which looks really slim. But I do have an appointment tomorrow to see one. The guy said $7000 of sticker since it was an 07 and they want to sell it. The sticker was $38,860.

So far I have 4 delaerships bidding for my bussiness. The 3 others were only offering 2008s for $35,600. Which is not bad, but I can not justify the switch if the difference is that much.

Basically I was hoping to get into a new Z with no miles, and just restart the 5 year plan and just pay a little extra.

And you are correct, I will only get $22K for my Touring but the good thing is I only owe like around $18K. still I am loosing money. I just don't want to have my Z for 15 years and then down the road wished I found a deal on a Nismo. At least if I don't get one, I can say I tried.

Long story short...I find out tomorrow if I can get the Nismo Z, for the price I want.

update..salesman just called as I was writing this...confirmed the price and our appointment. So if the car checks out...I will be marching to the credit union for a loan on Monday.

hey if thats what you want and you can afford it, go for it,and stock to your guns on price, tas you said there are other dealers trying to move these cars, if none will meet your price right now, wait a couple weeks and see if they are ready to be more reasonable, these are expensive cars and seem to be tough for the dealers move, make sure you get one on your own terms

Personally Id wait for the 370.

I just cant justify the trade from an 07 to an 07 nismo with the loan and whatnot.

but hey its your money.

no Deal. The dealership had posted they had 2 Nismos on their website, once I arrived they kept "looking" next thing you know we were standing in front of a 2007 Z GT Roadster

So far it's $35,500 for 2008. can't do it for that price.

The good thing is if any of you are looking to upgrade or get into a Z. Finding a 2007 Z is a great bargain at any trim right now, including Nismos if you can find one. They are marking them off from $7K-8K, that at least was confirmed.

thanks for your input guys
