Thanks first of all for helping a confused guy in a tough spot. Here's my situation…. I have a set of 5Zigen Hyper 5ZR in 19x7.5 (front) 19x8 (rear) 225/40-19 all the way around. The problem I have is I put a huge dent in both wheels when I came across some unmarked road work in the middle of the night, strip of pavement was dug up perpendicular to the road. I've already rolled a small dent from the lip once and bottom line is it's getting very old. I live in Wisconsin and have never had problems with wheels and being an aware driver but it seems unavoidable.

No matter what I'm getting rid of these wheels for a much more aggressive setup as far as wheel width and getting away from the gloss black look. My question to all of you helping me out is to go with either a 18 or a 19" wheel. Ordering these sometime this week……

Thanks

19" if you want more exclusivity. 18s and 20s are everywhere

I spent a ton of money on the 5Zigens which is a 2pc forged wheel and I'm not sure a thicker tire would have necessarily saved me from the dents. The tires I'm running now are 225/40's (26.08" Diameter), the side walls are pretty thin but not rubber bands by any means. If I did 19's again I'd run 245/40's which would turn out to 26.72" more tire but again would it help….. Who knows it may have still happened with an 18" but I doubt it, especially since I'll be going a little over stock with a 245/45-18 if I go that route.

19's look so good though.

In my eyes the polished lip and the 2pc construction of the GTS is a little more bling/show over the 1 pc...... Not that it's a big thing to me, like I said, the RE30's are hot.
