I may have an opportunity to get an SR swap pretty cheap. I don't have all the money "allocated" for the swap right now. I was planning on puttin in the swap in a few months once I save up some money.

I was thinking of putting on wheels first and then save money for the swap. Everyone says its gonna cost more than you think because there's all sorts of stuff that can happen.

What would you guys do? Spend money, that I really shouldn't to get the motor...even though I will have to wait to get it installed? Should I purchase rims and wheels and wait on the swap. Or should I buy nothing, save my money and get the swap installed...even if it means that I miss this opportunity to get the motor/transmission?

Edit:The rims and wheels will cost around $1490 and the engine/transmission will cost around $2600. No I/C and not installed of course. But the swap does come with a stage 3 clutch.

rims and wheels? Do you have some rubber bands to put on them? Or did you mean rims and tires?

why bother getting wheels when the stock ones are up to the challange of stock drivetrain

do the swap work on how it looks later , you sit behind the wheel , do what makes you happy there , let the guy in the benz next to you worry about how the outside looks

i belive a very ugly person said it best " its not whats on the outside that counts but whats inside"

$2600 with no intercooler and probly missing some other parts doesn't sound like a good deal to me.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'll definately save for the swap. I'll skip the rims for now. Of course I meant rims and tires!

The swap was a good deal because it's from a guy who is local and it runs in the vehicle right now. ( I think) I save money on shipping. And on taxes...:rolleyes
