what would u pay for a 86 300zx?

alright. here's the story. i have the opportunity to buy an impounded 300zx. and although i know alot about cars in general.. and quite a bit about 240's. i know almost nothing about the price of a 300zx.

this car is an 86it has no key (can have one made for $80it has aftermarket exhaustgood tiresthe rest is stock.from the seats up the interior is in descent shape. seats back it is pretty much gone. (no carpet.. speaker covers, wires from amp running all over)clutch is goodcar runs5spdmotor looks and sounds and runs good.exterior is in great shape no dents at allfew scratches (small)good gold paint.T-tops look good.only exterior problem is the drivers rear quarter glass (not sure if thats the officail name) is messed up. its kind coming out of the car. hard to describe but may need a new glass installed.i need to check underneath for rust

basically.. do u think this is a descent deal? i plan to fix it up to stock or a little better than stock specs and then probably sell it.. my true passion is a 240.

how much would you guys pay for a car like this? (estimate)

hard to say, and you might want to check with a good locksmith on that key, I've had then cut form the vin for about $20 each, look for similar cars for sale in your area, decent n/a cars can be had for $1000 and up, 88-89 turbo 5 speeds tend to be 3-5k, and of course exceptional good or bad condition and miles will adjust those figures heavily

ive checked with a locksmith. they said it'd be $80 if they came here (from about 20 miles away) no one closer that i know of will do it. i need to take some pictures.. but its priced at $350. so once they get the title i believe im going to get it.

ah, yeah the housecall is gonna cost you, if you took the car to them it would be a lot less, and yeah fot 350 it's hard to pass up

yeh im about 99% sure im going to buy it. i plan to restore it to good looking shape everywhere (engine, exterior, and interior) and then probably sell it.. id like to have a 240sx.

i may be able to take the car to them.. there's no way to pop start a car w/o the key is there? i mean.. im sure icould wire it.. but... u know what i mean
