What would look good (and actually fit!) a 2001 i30?

I need new tires, figured what better time to buy wheels too Problem is its hard to find actual good examples. My i30 is "Ruby Red", aka dark maroon metallic, so I was thinking a brighter wheel (silver, hyper silver) would work best.

I didnt see any members rides of darker colored cars, so its hard to get an idea (except for Tire Racks "view on car" function, but their wheel choices are limited).

Im a fairly tame driver........with the occasional "spirited" driving stint. Wheel size isnt a big deal, I think it would make more sense to stay in 16/17" range, but a decent priced 18" could catch my eye. My goal was a year-round set of wheels/tires, so Id be looking at all seasons. Right now for tires Im leaning towards the new Conti DWS, so the tire selection is pretty done. Just the wheel part thats tough.

EDIT: forgot to mention im in the northeast, so the wheels/tires will need to run on snow (unless I can pick up a cheap set of snows which probably aint happenin this year)
