you know the round metal piece on the distributor and cas, the one under the metal shield that turns and has a sensor that reads the little notches in it as it rotates,you know. well what if that piece was bent in a couple of places and i ran the engine and it ran but had problems. this piece is on a distributor and i am pretty sure it is on the cas too. i think that it sends the ecu timing signals that it calculates for the injector timing and also in the case of dis, ignition too, i think.

i am trying to find out what is wrong with my sr20de(rwd) and this is the only thing i can think that is wrong. when i first put this car together i noticed the bent places in it and tryed to fix it but it would not bend strait. so i thought maybe it was supposed to be that way so i left it like that.
