What would drain the battery when turned off?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

This is in addition to/part of my previous question. My 2004 Nissan Sentra has an electrical issue. The battery is drained when the car is off. It's a fairly significant pull (around 2.5 Amps). Also, it's obviously something that is hot all the time. What electrical system in the car would be pulling this kind of juice when it is simply sitting, no engine running?

You might be able to isolate the troublesome circuit by pulling one fuse at a time. If you pull a fuse and the load drops to zero, at least you'll know where to start. Good luck.

I've tried pulling fuses one at a time and I can get the Amps to 0 if I pull the AUDIO, HORN, ECCS, Room Lamp, Tail Lamp, the BATT relay (the 100A one that goes to the alternator) and a fuse on the fuse box inside the car labeled Electrical Parts. When ALL of those are pulled it fixes the leak. I'm just not sure how all these systems connect or where the central problem would be. I've tried replacing both the alternator and generator with no luck. Electrical is obviously not my thing.

Not that I know of. I bought the car used and it appears to have the basic audio setup original to the car. It does look like someone has added the alarm that is on there, but I'm not positive. The issue appears to be prior to the Relay box and the TCM. I'm still suspicious of the keyless entry, but I'm also wondering about the ECM now.
