My car is a 1996 Infiniti i30t. Yesterday there was a small fluid leak I noticed under the car. I took it to jiffy lube and they told me it was a power steering fluid leak and showed me where it was coming from.
Then today when I went out to just check on it, the puddle was way bigger than before. The place the leak was coming from was in the same place they showed me at jiffy lube. I decided to take it back to them and to have them recheck. They told me it wasn't anything else, just the power steering fluid is leaking. No additional fluid was added before all this, so that wouldn't be the case of it being overfilled

So I wanted to know what causes power steering to suddenly leak so much more? Before, the spot I noticed was about 2 inches in diameter and just seemed like a few drops. The spot today was about 2 feet long and 4-5 inches wide.

Did Jiffy Lube show you exactly where the leak was coming from ? Generally those leaks are difficult to detect but not impossible. For now keep a close check on your Power Steering Reservoir, so it doesn't run dry and it doesn't burn out your pump. I've had a leak on my pump since I got the car back in 2003, and I've 'been filling it with "Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak" it slowed it down considerably, till I get the time to fix my leak on the Rack & Pinion seals. Let me know how things work out for you okay
