VERY VERY long story short, is there anything which could cause extreme retard and extreme advancement of the igniton timing?

Ignition is stock besides beefier plug wires and 1 step colder plugs. Engine is a 1993 KA24DE with a t3/t4 turbo. Base timing is perfect. Gas is 93 octane.

under very slight acceleration, the car detonates like hell. Under mild to wide-open throttle, the ignition feels severely retarded. The car will only make 5psi and that takes forever to build. Setup is set-up for 10psi.

Could bad gas cause this?

What are you running for a fuel system?

And are you sure it is detonation you are hearing?

Running about 12:1 part throttle and 10.5:1 WOT

OK. just making sure your fuel is sufficient.

"under very slight acceleration, the car detonates like hell. Under mild to wide-open throttle, the ignition feels severely retarded. The car will only make 5psi and that takes forever to build. Setup is set-up for 10psi."

I'm a bit confused as to what you mean by this. under slight acceleration? What kind of throttle input are you referring to? Becaused in the next sentence you say that from mild to WOT, timing feels retarded. Which would help reduce the chances of detonation.

If boost isn't building, look for a boost or exhaust leak. You might even be hearing an exhaust leak.

No exhaust leaks and the wastegate is closed when it should be. I have a muffler installed on it and i can reach my hand under the car to feel for a leak (open WG).

say im cruising at 50 and come upon a slight hill. The extra load will make it detonate, or if I want to go from say 50-55 on a flat surface, that'll cause the detonation too. Seems that when i get over the detonation (just bear it and throttle anyways), it'll go away, but as soon as I start building any boost (even .25 psi), the engine just doesnt want to make power and feels exactly like super-retarded ignition.

Idle is perfect and everything. This problem happened after I washed my engine bay FYI. I took it to a shop and they said it was insufficient fuel, but if I richen it anymore (its already rich as crap), it'll just start 'breaking up' so I am very confident that its not a fuel related problem.

I DO have an aftermarket ignition but i have removed it to troubleshoot this problem.

I just got back from the store and bought some 'water remover' to add to the gas tank as well as some new plugs which I'll install tomorrow. Ive got about a half tank, so im gonna add some more gas (just in case it was bad gas). Im kinda doubting bad gas though because I would think that if the gas did have water in it, that would cause me NOT to detonate.

I checked thoroughly for boost leaks and even bypassed my FMIC and BOV to see if that would help, which it didnt :(

Maybe a messed up knock sensor? I know they can cause lots of advance and retard when they're screwed up.

I removed that and it didnt change anythign (a while back).

for some ODD reason, the car started running normal again. After months of being screwed up, it fixes itself. Im in utter confusion, but its good to have the car back :)
