after melting the harness in my friend's KA and completely switching out to a new complete/non-ghetto harness, still no start. no crank at all.car was running absolutely perfect until the harness got damaged.

only thing that happens is the starter is spinning but not engaging.we also switched starters too, same ****. just spinning. sounds like an old rc car or windup matchbox racer...?anyone; mechanics?

Your solenoid is not throwing the gear out to engage the flywheel. You switched starters so I would suspect it is not getting the signal to do so, check the wiring and relays for broken or melted bits.
