They are more reliable, get better fuel economy, simpler, and more fun. Usually the vehicle itself will be cheaper with it as well.

Less stealable as fewer and fewer people know how to drive one. The revving engine and crunching gears will wake you up when they try to get away with your car. They will probably beep the horns too thinking they're shift buttons. :rolleyes:

Automatic transmissions are a lot more difficult and expensive to repair. Plus, everyone needs to know how to drive a manual. As far as buying an old school Z, 240 or 280, I would highly advise against one as a DD. I have a 240Z. She is beautiful, fast, and fun but as with any 40+ year old car, she can be temperamental. Better to get something newer, more reliable, more likely to start every time you turn the key, less likely to piss (pick a fluid) all over your driveway for your first car.

My first car was stick. I think it would be a very very very good idea to get and Natick car. They are more fun to drive and you will be paying more attention at the roads. Plus you will be one of the few at school who OWNS a stick car. And that on high school wad cool. At least in my area it was
