so I've been doing ALOT of reading, searches and so forth.

now this is a debate for me between importing a 89-90 R32 Skyline GTR vs a 89-90 S13 180SX.

I have specific (performance) goals that I want to accomplish. which is basically High 11s to low 12s on street tires.

Now I haven't quite decided which car I want, but up until 2-3 months ago I was sure I wanted a GTR, but having hard and expensive to find parts if something breaks down is quite a turn off, not to mention the rising prices of the R32s atm.

So I'm trying to figure out (parts and price wise) what I should do about getting a CA18DET powered 180SX into the low 12s high 11s.

I already basically got what I want done for looks (s15 front end...just still doing some research) and suspension (done this research, Zeal coilovers, Front/rear Cusco Strut Tower Bars, front rear Whiteline antiroll bars, and Nismo Power Brace :) )

The tires I'm aiming to get (depending on budget) will be Khumo MXs or Pilot sports.

The reason I'm asking, is because I won't be getting the car for another year or so, and I need to plan out a budget for the rest of the year. I really don't want to **** up this budget so I wanna plan early rather than plan late.

Before anyone *****es, I know the 240SX isn't a straight line car, but I still want a car that can do it decently :)

There is a guy up in Canada that just bought an old school drift tank(Cefrilio, I think thats how its spelled) from Canonball R. IF you want to be fast, Just get a Skyline. Price for price thats what I would do. But then again a RB20 powerd 4 door sounds like fun too.

The R32 is soooo sexy. I'd get one in a heartbeat. Plust it's a better platform to start with and you'll have to do less to it to get it into the #'s that you want.

Yea, I love the R32 as well, the only things that bother me about it is

a) maintanaceb) it'll be a all year round car, ie winterc) partsd) if something breaks wtfe) tuning, who can do itf) right off the bat it'll be about 2X more than a 180SX easily (cost wise)

Lol...unfortuantly your logic doesn't work alot.

a) It was tuned for higher octane gas, we get 91 octane, and modding it might be difficult.b) AWD means **** if the engine won't start when it's -50 C outc) And Parts that come across a content can take up to a month to arrive...an ocean is alot more vast, and this WILL be my daily driverd) see Ce) anyone who can tune a car...I don't trust any one in my city to tune my car, we have ONE dyno, and it's 2wd, it's a city of 600000 people. Majority of tuners are domestics.f) Yes I agree the R32 is really sexy...but 2X the price :)

I'm still deciding btw :)

http://www.magnusmotorsports.com trust them with your life, I would. Marco is a very cunning floppyhead. And BTW all jap ECUs are tuned for higher octane gas.

Okay Better question, What's the max power that I should expect to make out of a CA18DET w/o changing the internals?
