Also what times are you hitting with bolt ons(I/H/E)?

You're asking a VERY loaded question. It depends on every possible variable, temperature, state of tune, tires, clutch, launch, driver, etc. I've seen a 93 coupe with a ghetto built exhaust, no air filter, and an ASP pulley run a 14.9, while a 95 with all the usual add-ons hit 15.7. You can't answer that question with any certainty.

Decent driving with I/H/E and a manual transmission will net you a high 15, most likely. Also depends on teh strength of the motor. I/H/E + cams + clutch would be around 15.5 I'd think.

It also depends on how well you know your car. You have to know what RPM to launch at, where to shift, 60ft. times, reaction times, etc. The stock time for Car and Driver when the car first came out was 15.9. This was the SE model with a 5spd. I know a guy that lives by me who consistantly runs mid to low 15's with just an exhaust on his base model 97. I think his best time was a 15.34. Right now I think I know my car very well, but unfotunetely the track is closed for the winter.

I ran a [email protected] mph in my 91 5-speed coupe with a K&N panel filter and a cat back, all else stock. depends on the driver, car, elevation, track, weather, and all like stated above. this was run in 85 degree weather after driving an hour to the track and i didnt even shut the car off, i just went on to the track and thats the best time it ever ran.

the driver has a LOT to do with it.

I/H/E a good clutch, and a good driver can net mid 15's in a standard.

I/H/E cams, and a good driver can do it in an automatic.

Thanks for the response guys. I am just starting to modify the car. I have all the following parts but have not installed them yet. Greddy emanage, Injen intake, Unorthadox pulleys, ACT clutch w/ lightened flywheel, and 5zigen exhaust. Does anyone have a similar set-up and if so what times have you been getting?

on my 93 coupe with 17' wheels, 75lbs speaker box in the back and my brother in the car i ran a 15.1 @ 89ph..here are my mods:injen intake, hotshot header,apex-i n1(3inch), asp crank pulley, jwt ecu up grade that is all i had...car weight was 2950lbs with brother in the car but not me. so add another 155lbs.so it isn't hard to do at all...if you get the cams and a lighten flywheel you could be in the mid to high 14s and take all that **** out of my trunk and put on some lighter 16' wheels.Mike[email protected]

I seriously doubt that youd run a 15.5 or 15.6 even in an auto. I have a decent amount more done to mine and a few thousand less miles and the fastest Ive gotten was a 15.702 @ around 45°f, and one run at 15.71 at 60° last year. I also have a ton (read: if you pressed all my slips together it would be over an inch thick, im guessing an easy 125 - 150 runs) of runs behind me. Take it to the track and see man I almost bet youll be dissapointed....

I shoulda ran it tonight, as it was in the 30's :) I could have managed a 15.5 or 15.4 possibly.

I'M GUESING AN EASY 125-150 RUNS BEHIND ME

maybe your times are low because you are running the $hit out of your car. thats a whole lot of runs and a whole lot of abuse.just a thought.

cmon man, like no body flattens their car to the floor and gives er everything she got. Being on the track only makes it safer to the public, and its no different than if you floor it at a stoplight.

All those runs don't mean its more wear on the car, unless you talk about a car thats never driven other than on a track, then its the only wear its getting. I've seen teenagers drive a car that would give it more wear and abuse in less than a week than half of his runs would account for.

you guys fail to mention tires/lsdthose two can make the biggest difference if you are spinning through all of first and second or if you are babying it so you don't spin you aren't getting much hp to the ground. i think a good driver, tires, and an exhaust could hit 15.5i seem to remember from the mailing list someone with like a 15.4 stock. also remember every motor has it's subtle differences. also how tuned up it is makes a difference as does your options. your best bet to answer the question is to run it at the track and get a baseline/ practiceB

My car is bone stock to my knowledge with exception of K&N cone filter and my best 1/4 mile time with my friend in the car is a 15.2 and a 15.3-15.4 consistantly. The only thing I can think is that it is lighter than most because it is a base model with no options at all, plus 5 spd. It is a 92'.....
